He/She likes you so go be a doormat

So we've heard about that dumb moral that if a bully bullies you, he/she likes you. I didn't mention opposite gender because if a gay/lesbian/bi/pan kid is being bullied by someone of the same gender, that saying could also be used towards them.

If you haven't heard that moral, then here's an example: A 12-year-old boy is bullied by a girl at school. He can't take it anymore and seeks help from his parents. They say "she likes you that's why" and refuse to help him. She doesn't like him but his parents still insist. It gets much worse to the point he commits suicide. This is not how you raise a red flag for bullying. This could also teach kids to go for abusive people when they're older, or to abuse their significant other when they're older.

There's times where this works, but it doesn't always work. So please, if you have kids who are suffering from bullying, don't teach them this, but if the bully actually likes them, then maybe you were right..? But even if the bully actually likes them, don't use this moral and teach the kid how to stand up to them, and maybe befriend them after. My parents never told me this crap (thankfully) but if your parents did, I'm so sorry that they didn't listen to you.

TL;DR: If you refuse to help a kid being bullied because "oh he/she likes you uwu" then I will actually fucking clip up through the floor behind you and vaporize you
